I'd describe it as smoky, spicy, with a little sweetness but NOT a lot. The sauce is a little darker than their OG bbq. Might be related to the smoky taste. I've used this on chicken wings, plain chicken, shredded chicken, etc. and it gets the job done. i like the smoky taste, but overall I think I'd prefer the original bbq
